Hello There! I'm Sky, or Adam to everyone not on the internet.
I am a 41 year old tech nerd from Wisconsin (US) that's been tinkering with gadgets and gizmos since I was a wee lad.
When I learned that I wasn't able to go fly for the military (colorblindness), I went to school for web development. However, once I was done with that, I used those skills and joined my families business. Actually, businesses, with a focus on insurance products.
When I wasn't doing that, I was serving for my local volunteer fire department. I even earned my way to an assistant chief position. I had the opportunity to play with plenty of gadgets on the fire department. When I wasn't fighting fires, I was investigating them as an arson investigator.
Sadly, due to an injury, I can no longer fight fires. I am still involved with public safety, serving as the chief pilot for my county drone team. We perform all kinds of missions ranging from search and rescue to law enforcement.
I started to follow Yarbo when they performed their Kickstarter. I wasn't ready to invest then, but I was watching the development. Seeing as I live in Wisconsin, a multifunctional tool that not only clears the snow but cuts grass was something I was excited to learn about and eventually have in my own hands. Due to my injury, mowing grass and using my snowblower can prove to be challenging. This tool was going to help with these tasks all while providing entertainment for me.
In late December of 2024, my 2024 core arrived at my house. I was able to get it up and running without too much trouble. I even have some parts to help improve my DC install.
When I learned there was a discord group for Yarbo users, I was quick to jump in. There I teamed up with |N| (or @JohnnyCautious ) to put together a forum site for Yarbo owners and interested persons. There are Facebook groups, Reddit posts and their website all with great information. We will try to capture that and keep it on one platform for everyone so that we can help those that might need assistance or that may want to share thoughts / experiences with others.
