How far can I go?

I ordered the lawn mower only as I live in the South and never need a snow blower.

I do not want to register and activate my warranty until March. That said, what all can I install without have to start the warranty period? Charging station? Data center?

Also, I would like to know if I only have the mowing attachment and will never need to clear the charging pad of snow, do I still need all of the clearance all the way around?

Thanks in advance.

Jason

@jlbrown1 from my understanding, your warranty starts on every unit or module you open...
So, if you open and set up (register) the Core/Datacenter/Docking station, it will start on those.
It will start on the M1 once you register that.

In regards to the clearance, I believe it's optimal to have as much room around it, but most importantly the front. I actually have my core and pad in a spot that's not as clear until spring comes around and I can find a better spot.

and set up
That was my read, but it was more that if you pair it to the mobile app. So unboxing, driving it around and such via the controller without any app connection wouldn't start the warranty. However, the warranty starts regardless in APRIL. Some quotes BY YARBO from the facebook group:
Please be assured that the warranty will be in effect from the time your module is registered in the app, and the waiting time incurred by shipping will not consume your warranty period.
- My understanding that registration is when you scan the QR/serial or otherwise associate the core with your account. Which is basically the first step when using the mobile app. I plan to just not download the app until my grass wakes up:
Regarding your first question, "What about the refund within 30 days? Will it start when the module is registered in the app too?" The answer is yes!
For your second question, "Am I correct?" The example you provided is correct, so please don't worry.
Concerning your third question, "Or can I test the rover without registering it to make sure that it can move everywhere I want in the yard and return it within the 30 days of arrival if the core cannot manage?" If you just want to test the rover to see if it's working, it is possible to use the controller to manipulate Yarbo's actions without registering. However, if you want to perform an automated setup, registration is required. This is necessary for us to confirm the activation of your machine before providing you with automation services. If there is an issue with the core preventing it from working properly, you can return it. In such cases, we will not charge a delivery fee and will repair the core for you. Please feel free to contact us!

Another post from Aug 17 by Bill Sanders has advise but is not posted by Yarbo but by Steve:
as others have mentioned as long as you don’t register the core to your account (scanning the QR code for its S/N) the warranty period will not start.
Also as mentioned, I would definitely open box and put things together to make sure you have all the pieces. You could even connect the battery to the rover and power it up, again making sure it’s functioning for as far as the set up process takes you.
This way anything missing or broken you have the 30 day money back to cover you for that period and to make that call.
Being that you live in the south, you could take the time (after the 30 days to get your antenna situated get you charging dock initially located (I wouldn’t screw anything down till you activate) during your fall & winter. So come spring you finish your setup & activate!
